The guests were asked to introduce themselves.

The July meeting at Riverside Park was successful with twenty-two members attending..  Richard would like to see a turn-out like that at our club hunts.

Richard commented on the newspaper article in the Indian River Press Journal tha He said it was very complimentary of our hobby.  They noted some of the good we, as detectorist, do for the community.

Mitch King gave a talk about returning  some of the rings and other valuables that are found.  He said the owner of most lost class rings can be found by contacting the school  and by going on “Craig’s List”.  You can post the ring and also look to see if the ring is advertised as lost.

Mitch also explained what the Molasses Raffle is.  Tickets at this meeting are 5 for $5.  In past years items were shown to the members at each meeting before they were put into the Treasure Box.  The object is to put something new in from the August meeting and each succeeding meeting until December.  The winning ticket will be drawn at the December meeting.  You must be present to win.  The contents of the treasure box will be given to the holder of the winning ticket.  The treasure box will be held for the annual hunt in March.

The Multi-Park Hunt will be Saturday, October 9.
