Bill Yarosh joined TCAS at the meeting. Welcome to TCAS Bill.
We needed to decide who would be receiving donations from our Annual Benefit Hunt. With only three charities mentioned, it was decided to donate $1,000 among Candlelighters of Brevard, Nana's House and SOS Cookies.
Candlelighters of Brevard, Inc.
is a non-profit organization dedicated to children with cancer and their
families by offering emotional support and financial assistance. Candlelighters
of Brevard, Inc are committed to ensuring no one has to face the diagnosis of
childhood cancer alone.
Nana’s House (http://nanaschildrenshome.com) is a group
children’s home for
neglected, abused, needy, or abandoned children ages 0 – 18. These children
will be provided for in every manner. Their mission is to provide a safe,
secure, loving home where these children can come and experience God’s love
and healing.
SOS Cookies sends troops ‘taste of home’ from Roseland and Sebastian. SOS Cookies remembers American troops by sending care packages of homemade cookies to as many soldiers overseas as possible. This website is an article from the Veronews.com covering SOS Cookies: http://www.veronews.com/news/sebastian/spotlight/sos-cookies-sends-troops-taste-of-home-from-roseland-sebastian/article_0359af14-b566-5d39-a5a1-716f2952b562.html?mode=story
On August 25th there was a hunt with the Daytona Beach Club (a flyer was
sent to everyone). Cost was $15.00 and it was held after sunset and NO lights
were allowed. Look for more of these in the future.
Mitch King, TCAS Vice President talked about the upcoming TCAS
Appreciation Hunt on November 3rd. This hunt will be only for members of TCAS,
Gold Coast and the Central Florida Metal Detecting clubs. The grand prize will
be a Garrett AT Pro detector!
Mitch also talked about our Multi Park Hunt which will be on October 6th
at Wickham Park in Melbourne. Show time 9:00 AM, eating about 1:00 PM with
prizes after everyone is full. Parks will be announced at Wickham Park. You can
hunt all parks or just one, whatever you want to do. Top three prizes are: 1st
place a Garrett ACE 250; 2nd place a Scoop; 3rd place will be a TCAS one year
membership.
TCAS Christmas Party will be held on December 9th with a start time of
4:30 - 5:00 PM at Marsh Landings in Fellsmere.
Since we did not have a meeting in July, it was agreed upon to only have one Finds table for June and July with double the points awarded to winners. All winners receive points for which are added up to determine the TCAS 0Master Hunter, who will be announced at the Christmas Party.
