The December meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Jim Stewart, the outgoing President of TCAS.

 

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Richard Hart, Jr.

 

The minutes were read by the Secretary with corrections made:

 

 There were 24 members and 6 visitors present.

 

The winners of the Scavenger Hunt were:

Joan Hart found the token that Jim Stewart had hidden.  Her prize was a real nice set of coins that Ed Strnad had donated to the club.

 

Dr. Eugene Lyon was our program speaker.  Dr. Lyon is a Historian and a specialist in Spanish Colonial Florida and the Spanish Maritime.  Dr. Lyon gave a slide presentation of his studies of the Spanish ship wrecks.

 

Mitch King asked if there was anyone that may have read Lost Treasure magazine online.  TCAS is featured in an article.  The web site is:  www.LostTreasure.com.

 

After the break there was an auction of a treasure map that Dr. Lyon had autographed.  It went for $20.00.  Jim Stewart was the highest bidder.

 

There were no nominations for new officers; although the senior Richard Hart's arm was twisted.  He reluctantly said he would serve as President for 2008.  Mary McGee will continue as Treasurer and Donna Rothery will continue as Secretary until she goes on vacation.

    

Jim Stewart made an announcement of a "Note of Interest";  Mitch King has programmed 10,000 Christmas lights to music and also has it programmed so the observer can listen to the music on FM 93.1.  Mitch's home is at 165 Miller Drive in Sebastian.
