Treasure Coast Archeological Society Meeting
July 5, 2006

 

The meeting was called to order by club president, Richard Hart, Sr. at 7:45 p.m.

 

There were 21 members and 5 guests present.  We received five new members into the club.  The guests introduced themselves to those present.

 

Mitch King lead everyone in the Pledge of allegiance.  The minutes and a report on the club hunt in May were read.

 

Mitch explained to the new members and the guests about the club hunts.  He  also told us that there is information on the web site about the hunts.

 

Mitch found a class ring and was trying to find its rightful owner.  Richard Hart asked Mitch to tell those present the procedure he uses to locate the rightful owner.

 

Mitch talked about Scott Lake in Lakeland that recently drained as a result of a sink hole.  He had thought it would be a good place to hunt since it was a lake he had used as a kid.  When he got over there to hunt, he found it had been blocked off because it is now a private lake belonging to the homeowners.

 

There was a discussion on having another club hunt.  Possibilities are:  the 5 park hunt, a relic hunt in Ocala, or another beach hunt.

 

There was a silent vote on where to donate money from our annual benefit hunt

,.The choices and vote tallies were:  Operation Hope (1), Harmony Farms (2), the Boys and Girls Club (9).
