 TCAS Monthly Meeting Notes

March  2005

 

 

 

The meeting was called to order by club president, Richard Hart at 7:50 p.m.

 

Aubrey Kozak is an Ocean Engineering Graduate Student at Florida Institute of Technology. She gave a slide presentation about the difficulty of mapping the ocean floor.  Ms. Kozak is a volunteer at the Mel Fisher Museum in Sebastian.  Some of her sponsors are:

 

RPM Nautical Foundation.  RPM is a non-profit organization utilizing state-of-the-art technology to advance research in the field of nautical archaeology.

Geometrics.  They design and manufacture geophysical instrumentation.

Mel Fisher  Maritime Heritage Society.  Their web site is about shipwreck archaeology.

Mary McGee read a thank you letter from Operation Hope expressing their appreciation for the $1000.00 that TCAS donated to them.

 

Richard wants to have a Club hunt.  Ed Stranard suggested having the hunt after the next meeting.

 

Mary McGee asked if  the Club will start buying silver and prizes for next years hunt.

 

Donna Rothery is to send Jim Stewart a list of members to have badges made up.

 

Marty Hufnagel will buy doughnuts for the June meeting

Richard and Joan Hart will buy the drinks.
