Mitch King has been working on the web page. He has
uploaded pictures, links, Calendar of Events, and a President’s blog page.
The beach hunt that is scheduled for Saturday, May 8 will
be held at Treasure Shores which is north of Golden Sands beach. We
will meet at 9:30 a.m. The hunt starts at 10:00 a.m. A covered
dish and $5.00 is the fee for this hunt.
Tokens and silver will be planted. There will be
prizes. One of the prizes is a Garrett Ace 250 pro-pac.
Joan Hart was awarded a certificate for her Find of the Month in April which
was for the gold rings she found.
Richard Hart gave a report on the Benefit Hunt. It
was very successful according to the survey that Frank Hanson took after the
hunt.
There was a negative remark concerning the pin point hunt.
Some people thought young Richard was “too young” and lacked experience.
The 2011 Benefit Hunt will be held on Saturday, March 12.
Daniel Hart reported on the success of the Relay for Life
that he and Amy were involved in. He said his team walked 50 miles and
raised $2,030.00 and $500.00 was donated by Wal-Mart.
Donation proceeds from the 2010 Benefit Hunt will go to
the American Cancer Society, Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranch to help send
some youth to summer camp; and to Nana’s House. Nana’s
Children’s Home care for abused and abandoned children in a home-like
environment.
Mitch King is to design the flyer to advertise the Benefit
Hunt for next year. Jim Stewart will print
500 flyers.
Mark Holshoe told how to mark the ballots when voting on
the items on the Finds table.
We had an excellent impromptu speech given by Bob Mellor.
He told us about the Florida Historical Society located in Cocoa Village in
the old post office. Their website is: Florida Historical
Society.com.
He also told us about the Florida Public Archeology
Network. They have archives that go back to 1843. You can
encounter archeology in every region of Florida.

requested them.
Mitch King told all in attendance that batteries are on
sale at Home Depot at a very reasonable price.
