Treasure Coast Archeological Society Meeting
November 3, 2010
The next meeting is on Wednesday, December 1, 2010.
The November meeting was called to order at 7:50 p.m. by Richard Hart, Sr.,
President of TCAS.
The minutes can be read on the club web site which is www.tcas.us.
They are also emailed to members with email addresses on file on the last
Wednesday of the month.
Mary McGee, Treasurer, said that checks have been sent out to the
charities that were chosen by the club to receive a donation from TCAS.
She asked that we all think of a charity we would like to donate to next year
from the proceeds of our Annual Benefit Hunt.
A letter of thanks was received from Friends of the Indian River County
Library for our support of their “Sponsor-A-Magazine” campaign. They
have purchased a subscription for American Woodworker and Mother
Earth News with the $39.98 donation we (TCAS) gave them.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Richard Hart, II.
Richard, the president, wants everybody to pay their 2011 membership dues
before the February meeting. By doing so, you will be entered in a
drawing for a $25.00 Walmart gift card. Members that are also officers
and get membership free will not qualify for the drawing.
Richard said that our Multi-Park hunt had a nice turnout of eighteen
members. The following people won prizes:
Jan King won 1st prize which was a Garrett Ace 250 metal detector.
2nd prize was won by Neil Normando which was a scoop, loop, hat
and
other accessories.
3rd prize was won by Daniel Hart which was a magazine
subscription.
Elwood Caldwell found a treasure chest with ten presidential
dollars in it.
There was a prize for the person that found the best garbage.
Richard reminded everybody to think of a slate of new officers for next
year. We will have an election at the December meeting. THIS
IS A REMINDER ! ! ! ! !
The Christmas dinner party will be on Saturday, December 4 at Marsh
Landings Restaurant, Fellsmere, FL. Those that would like to participate
in the Chinese gift exchange are asked to bring a $20.00 gift.
Mitch King explained the gift exchange and talked about the Molasses
Raffle. The raffle drawing will take place at the December meeting.
You must be present with the winning number.
Mark Holshoe explained the “finds” table again.

Skip Watson told us a touching story about the dog tag that he found.
Marty Hufnagel volunteered to bring doughnuts again next month. Kira
Thesenvitz will make the coffee and Mark Holshoe will bring the cooler full of
drinks.
The meeting adjourned at 9:10 p.m.
