October 2012

Minutes of the

Treasure Coast Archeological Society Meeting

October 3, 2012

The next meeting is on Wednesday, November 7, 2012.

The meeting was called to order at 7:45 P.M. by Richard Hart, Sr., President of TCAS.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Richard Hart, II.

The minutes can be read on the club website, www.tcas.us. They are also emailed to members with email addresses on file on the last Wednesday of the month.

General Notes:

27 Members present and 0 guest present.

Special Notice: On October 21, 2012 Bob Hayden passed away. Please see attached obituary for Bob.

Richard Hart, TCAS President spoke about the Multi-Park Hunt, Saturday, October 6th. Burgers and hot dogs will be cooked. Members are to bring a covered dish. For those hunting at TCAS club events, please fill in your holes – we are being watched at our events!

Volunteers were chosen to stay at the seeded parks to prevent other people from detecting before we can get there. One year 140 pieces were planted but only 40 pieces found during our hunt.

Members will meet at Wickham Park at 9:00 AM. Rules to be explained, maps given out and the fun will start about 9:30 – 10:00.

When everyone returns at the appointed time there will be food, drink and prizes.

Mitch King, TCAS Vice-President is in England. To see what he is up to, check out his face book page.

On November 3rd TCAS will host an Appreciation Hunt for the Central Florida Metal Detecting Club and Gold Coast Treasure Club. These two clubs support about 1/3 of the individuals at our Annual Benefit Hunt. It is important for TCAS members to support this hunt. Wear your TCAS shirts, hats and especially badges.

Hunt will be held at Kiwanis Hobart Park, the same park we have the Annual Benefit hunt at. Start time of 11:00 AM until about 3:00 PM. Bring your own lunch for this hunt. Prizes will be given away with a Garrett AT Pro for the grand prize!

Notes from TCAS Secretary: TCAS elections are held in December. This will only leave one month for nominations for President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary.
